SunEye Radioの11月11日(日本時間21:00~)のゲストは、1984年にChocolate Lipsのボーカリストとしてデビューをした藤原美穂さん。シティポップやモダンファンクの人気によって日本のみならず、世界中のDJやコレクターから再評価されているChocolate Lipsは、一人の日本人女性と二人のアフリカ系アメリカ人のメンバーによって構成されており、日本的なメロディセンスと本場のファンクが融合した伝説的グループ。Chocolate Lips解散後にソロでアニメ映画「カリフォルニア・クライシス　追撃の銃火」の主題歌が収録されているモダンファンク色全開の12インチ「California Crisis」をリリース。その後もソロ・アーティスト、ボーカルトレーナーとして活躍し続けてきた藤原さんに、幼少期にブラック・ミュージックの世界にのめり込んだきっかけ、Chocolate Lipsの結成の裏話や制作秘話、当時の日本にあった人種差別などディープなトピックについて赤裸々に語っていただきました。お楽しみに！

SunEye Radio’s guest for November 11th (from 9PM Japan time) is Miho Fujiwara, known as the vocalist for legendary Japanese funk band Chocolate Lips. Debuting in 1984, Chocolate Lips was very unique because it was made up of one Japanese woman and two African-American musicians who successfully combined a Japanese approach to melody with American funk. After Chocolate Lips, Miho Fujiwara went on to record the urban funk 12 inch “California Crisis” which included songs that were used for the soundtrack of an anime film with the same title. She is still active as a solo artist and vocal trainer, and in this interview she spoke about how she got into Black Music as a child, how Chocolate Lips came together as a band and recorded their album, and the racial discrimination that existed in Japan back then.
