dublab.jpが不動前目黒川沿いに佇むカフェ＆weaving place(ウィービングプレイス)「TONER」で展開する緩やかなリスニングエクスペリエンス。
今回はdublab.jpでプログラム「NEW RATIO」を担当するレジデンツでもありBBCでDJ、プロデューサー、エンジニアという肩書もつNick Luscombeとの共同キュレーション。 予測不能なパフォーマンスを繰り広げるフォーク/アバンギャルドギタリストのDavid Thomas Broughton、2000年代初頭からI’m Not A Gunとして数々のアルバムを発表し、現在でもその世界を拡張し続けているTakeshi Nishimoto、ブラジルで研鑽を積み、タージマハル旅行団の後継的バンド”STONE MUSIC”のギタリストでもあるTatsuro Murakamiという三者三様ギタースタイルでのサウンドスケープを展開するライブ。
DJは今回の共同キュレーターであり、ホストであるNick Luscombeと、同じくdublab.jpのレジデントDJ Emeraldがミュージックセレクターで空間を演出します。
dublab.jp presents a laid-back listening experience at TONER, a cafe and weaving place nestled along the Meguro River in Fudomae.
This edition is co-curated by Nick Luscombe—a dublab.jp resident and “NEW RATIO” programmer who also wears many hats as a BBC DJ, producer, and engineer.
The lineup features live soundscapes from three guitarists, each with a distinct style: David Thomas Broughton, a folk/avant-garde guitarist known for his unpredictable performances; Takeshi Nishimoto, who has been expanding his sonic world since the early 2000s as part of I’m Not A Gun; and Tatsuro Murakami, who honed his craft in Brazil and plays guitar for “STONE MUSIC” the successor band to the Taj Mahal Travellers.
Setting the mood on the decks are co-curator and host Nick Luscombe, alongside fellow dublab.jp resident DJ Emerald.

- ニック・ラスコムは、東京を拠点に活動するイギリス人のDJ、ラジオパーソナリティ、サウンド アーティスト、プロデューサー。 Straight No Chaser誌で「restless musical soul」と評され、パーティー、フェスティバル、イベン トでの彼の多彩なDJセットには、巧みに選ばれた世界中の音楽がユニークにミックスされている。 これまでラジオDJとして多数の番組を担当しており、なかでもよく知られているのは、2000年か ら2007年にかけてロンドンのXFMで放送された先駆的な電子音楽番組「Flomotion」、2009年か ら2019年にかけてのBBC Radio 3「Late Junction」、東京のCIC Liveでも番組を担当した。 2010年に設立された音楽と建築を結ぶプロジェクト「MSCTY」の創設者兼クリエイティブ・ディレクターでもある彼は、これまで世界中の様々なミュージシャンが「MSCTY」のために制作した 400以上のサウンドトラックをプロデュースしている。 サウンドアーティストとしては、彼が制作したフィールドレコーディング、サウンドスケープ、ア ンビエントミュージックのミックスが、BBC 6 MusicやBBC Radio 3で紹介され、サウンドオブ ジャパンやサウンドデザインズシリーズでも絶賛されている。 また、イギリスや日本のレーベルのコンピレーションアルバムやプレイリストのキュレーションも 行っており、最近では1970年代後半から1980年代のエレクトロニックポップを集めたアルバム 「Tokyo Dreaming」を日本コロムビアからリリースし、高い評価を得ている。 iTunes Europeのチーフエディターやロンドンのインスティテュート・オブ・コンテン ポラリー・アートの音楽ディレクターを務めており、現在は、王立芸術協会のフェロー、スイス文化基金の評議員としても活動している。
Nick Luscombe is an English DJ, broadcaster, sound collector, soundscape artist and producer based in London and Tokyo. He has produced and presented many radio programmes at the BBC since the 1990s, and is best know for presenting BBC Radio 3’s Sony Award winning show Late Junction from 2010-2019. Nick currently presents and produces the music programme New Ratio and the live interview show/podcast Inspiration Innovation Japan on CIC Live in Tokyo. He is the founder and creative director of the site specific music + architecture practice MSCTY, established in 2010, which has so far produced over 400 creative audio responses by an international array of artists. His field recording and ambient music mixes have been featured recently on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 3, who also broadcast his three part Sounds of Japan series in summer 2021. He also currently has a weekly ambient mix corner on Inter FM’s Dare2Care programme, as part of his ongoing sonic research work with the University of Tokyo. Nick has curated electronic and alternative music compilation albums and playlists for various UK and Japanese labels, most recently the acclaimed Tokyo Dreaming album of Japanese late 70s and 80s electronic pop. He also produces the Fieldwave cassette compilation series of location recordings.
