今回フィーチャーするのは、UK/ハウスシーンで世界的な注目を集めるプロデューサー/DJ、Barry Can’t Swim。彼がDJセットを披露した舞台は、小岩の昭和通り商店街で1965年の創業以来、地域に愛され続けてきた老舗焼き鳥店「鳥勢（Tori Sei）」です。
1本80円の焼き鳥を頬張る地元客やサラリーマンの熱気、昭和の面影を残す独特のノスタルジックな空気感。その空間にインスパイアされた彼が、その場と人々に寄り添うような特別なハウスセットを展開します。

Barry Can’t Swim recorded a set at 鳥勢 (Tori Sei), a ¥80-a-skewer yakitori counter that’s been running in Koiwa’s Showa-dori shotengai since 1965. Surrounded by local office workers and regulars, he curates a house set shaped by the unique, nostalgic atmosphere of the room.

- スコットランド出身のDJ／プロデューサー。ワールドツアーや主要フェスのヘッドライナー公演を即完させる人気アクト。マーキュリー賞にノミネートされた2023年のデビューアルバム『When Will We Land』や、O’FlynnやSHEEら新進気鋭の才能を輩出するレーベル〈Earth’s Only Paradise〉の主宰を通じ、トップアーティストかつ名テイスメーカーとしての地位を確立。ロンドンの「All Points East」やマンチェスターの「Warehouse Project」でのキュレーション/キュレーター出演のほか、名門ミックスシリーズ『Late Night Tales』の25周年記念作品にも参加している。
音楽活動にとどまらず、マイアミで開催された「KidSuper」のファッションショーへのモデル出演や、アディダス・オリジナルスおよびサッカー・スコットランド代表チームのワールドカップ用ユニフォームのローンチ企画を手掛けたりと、カルチャーシーン全体で多角的な活躍を見せる。
2024年夏にはシングル「Return to Bhibo」やフレンチ・タッチからインスパイアされた「Dance Dance Dance」（直後にフレンチ・ハウスの重鎮Cassiusによるリミックスもリリース）を次々と発表するなど、精力的な活動を続けている。

Scottish DJ/Producer Barry Can’t Swim is a sold-out live act and global festival headliner. His Mercury Prize-nominated 2023 debut album When Will We Land and his Earth’s Only Paradise imprint—home to emerging talents like O’Flynn and SHEE—have cemented his reputation as both an artist and a key tastemaker. Beyond his acclaimed live sets and headlining shows at London’s All Points East and Manchester’s Warehouse Project, he recently contributed a mix to the prestigious Late Night Tales series for its 25th anniversary.
Outside of music, Josh (aka Barry Can’t Swim) has expanded his creative presence into fashion and culture, recently walking the KidSuper show in Miami and collaborating with Adidas Originals and the Scotland national football team for their World Cup kit launch.
Following a prolific summer featuring singles like “Return to Bhibo” and the French touch-inspired “Dance Dance Dance”—which was quickly remixed by legendary French duo Cassius—he continues to push the boundaries of modern electronic music.
