SunEye Radioの9月9日(日本時間21:00~)のゲストは、日本を代表するシンガーソングライターのEPOさん！1980年にシュガーベイブのカバー曲「DOWNTOWN」で鮮烈にデビューを果たし、その後も80年代に数々のヒット曲を飛ばした彼女の唯一無二の声は、透明感、力強さ、癒しのエネルギーを併せ持っており、今は世界的なシティポップ・ブームの流れで再び注目を浴びている。彼女のアルバムは、ポップス、ソウル、R&B、テクノ・ポップ、フォーク、ヒーリング・ミュージックなど幅広い音楽的要素を取り入れており、1987年にVirgin UKと契約したことをきっかけに活動の場を一時的にイギリスに移したという過去もある。音楽活動以外に代替医療を長年学んできたEPOさんは、歌手としてだけではなく、今は心の問題を取り扱うセラピストとして精力的に活動中。今回は沖縄のご自宅からインタビューを受けていただいたEPOさんのキャリアを深く掘り下げました！

SunEye Radio’s guest for September 9th (From 9PM Japan Time) is legendary Japanese singer-songwriter EPO! She made her sensational debut in 1980 with her cover of Sugar Babe’s “Downtown,” and released countless hits throughout the 80s. Her crystal clear voice is powerful yet soothing, and her music has enjoyed a resurgence with the worldwide popularity of City Pop. Her albums combine elements from pop, soul, R&B, synth-pop, folk, and even healing music. In 1987, she signed with Virgin UK and lived and recorded in England for several years. Besides music, she has also been studying alternative medicine for many years, and now works as a therapist alongside her work as a singer. She spoke to us from her home in Okinawa and allowed us to dig deep into her illustrious career!
